In this introductory course you are going to find out about how children can be affected by living in households where there is domestic abuse

The course looks at:

The place of children in the Domestic Abuse Bill 2020; The 'lived experience'  and  'voice of the child';  Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs); The impact of childhood trauma on development and behaviour;  Making a difference by reducing trauma and building resilience; Getting support for children living with domestic abuse.

In this introductory course you will look at the idea of honour based abuse and some of the actions, behaviours and practices which are be described as 'honour based' 

It will also explain the 'one chance rule' and ways of supporting individuals affected by honour based abuse.  It will look at specific practices including Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and Forced Marriage
